Welcome again Cave Dwellers, to the next episode of The Neanderthal Mind. This week, I have the utmost pleasure and honor of sitting down with the one and only, Dr. Rebecca Wragg Sykes. She is the author of a number one selling, critically acclaimed book, titled, "Kindred, Neanderthal Life, Love, Death and Art". Rebecca is a career Archeologist, as well as an Honorary Fellow at the University of Liverpool and chercheur bénévol at Université de Bordeaux. Rebecca is as well, on top of all of that, one of the four founding members of Trowel Blazers, a foundation for the celebration of women archaeologists, paleontologists, and geologists. Rebecca is active in current movements to advance equality within the archaeological professions, including being part of the Inclusive Archaeology project, and working collectively with organizations including British Women Archaeologists. In this first part of two episodes, as if you didn’t know that it would be a 2 parter already, Rebecca and I discuss her early years, her experiences in Archeology and, what led her to write her Critically Acclaimed book, Kindred. So Cave Dwellers, sit back, relax and enjoy the show. I'll see you on the flip side.
Well Cave Dwellers, there you have it, and that’s just the first part of two with Rebecca Wragg Sykes. I am on the second round of Rebecca’s book, Kindred, Neanderthal Life, Love, Death and Art. I just love how Rebecca tells a story of a day in the life of a Neanderthal, as the opening to the next chapter, it really draws the reader/listener in, and gets you ready for the next chapter. I will have links in the show notes to Rebecca’s web sites, so you can indulge in everything she has to offer. So, Cave Dwellers, I would love to hear from you about how you feel the podcast is going. Is it what you were expecting? Are there things I can do differently to make this any better? If I don’t hear from you, I can only assume that I am giving you what you want from The Neanderthal Mind. I will take all criticism that you give, and try to mold the show to your liking, but, I can’t promise I will be able to do everything, everyone wants me to do, so please, email the show at theneanderthalmind@gmail.com, and go to the somewhat of a web site theneanderthalmind.com, and leave me some messages. Until next time Cave Dwellers….
